Cups to grams depends on the ingredient: a cup of flour weighs 140 g and a cup of sugar 200 g. The calculator converts any amount of 45 ingredients between cups, spoons and grams, and every chart follows.
IllustrationPick an ingredient, an amount and a unit, and see it at once in grams, cups, tablespoons and teaspoons.
A cup here is 240 ml, a tablespoon 15 ml and a teaspoon 5 ml. Ingredients without a cup weight are measured in spoons only.
For each ingredient: grams in a 240 ml cup, half a cup, a tablespoon and a teaspoon.

When a recipe is in grams, weigh it. A kitchen scale costs less than a cake tin and removes most mistakes.
Without a scale, spoon flour into the cup without packing and level it with the back of a knife. A cup dipped in the bag weighs more.
Brown sugar is measured packed, until it holds the shape of the cup when turned out.
Set a liquid measuring cup on the counter and read it at eye level, not from above.
A spoon dipped in oil first releases honey, date syrup and tahini completely, so the measure is exact.
A measuring tablespoon is 15 ml; an eating spoon holds anything from 10 to 20, so salt, yeast and baking powder take measuring spoons.
A packed cup of flour can reach 160 g, 30 g more than the recipe, and the cake comes out dry.
An Australian or British recipe assumes a 250 ml cup and, in Australia, a 20 ml tablespoon. In a cake you notice.
A teaspoon of coarse salt weighs nearly half a teaspoon of fine salt. Swap by weight, not by spoon.
One gram of dry yeast does the work of about three grams of fresh. A 50 g block of fresh does the work of one and a half to two 11 g sachets of dry.
In fan mode the hot air moves and baking runs faster. Lower 20 degrees or shorten the time.
A 240 ml cup of white flour weighs about 140 g scooped from the bag and about 125 g spooned in and levelled. Wholemeal flour is about 130 g.
A cup of white sugar weighs 200 g. Packed brown sugar is about 220 g and icing sugar about 120 g.
An Israeli measuring cup holds 240 ml, a US cup 236.6 ml and a metric cup in Australia and the UK 250 ml.
A tablespoon is 15 ml and a teaspoon 5 ml. A tablespoon holds three teaspoons, and a cup sixteen tablespoons.
A cup of uncooked long-grain white rice weighs about 195 g and short-grain about 200 g. Cooked, one cup of raw rice becomes about 3 cups.
A tablespoon of oil weighs about 14 g and a cup about 220 g, because oil is lighter than water.
Subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9. 350 °F is about 180 °C and 400 °F about 200 °C.
